With more than 40 countries, Asia is the largest continent. Being home to almost 60 percent of the human population on earth, close to 4.3 billion people call it home. Countries like China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, form the bulk of immigrants to the west. A sizeable workforce of the developed world comes from Asia. That makes education in the Asian continent of considerable interest to the rest of the world. International Schools in Thailand are currently thriving from neighboring countries sending their little ones to an education in the land of smiles.

The economy and trade axis is tilted towards Asia, with more and more nations moving away from established markets to expand towards the rapidly growing Eastern front. Hence, it comes as no surprise that education in Asia is certainly of concern and is now being engaged with. In this article we will explore in detail why is it becoming so.

Manpower

First, having the largest population, means that it will generate more manpower. And this manpower is going to be working for almost every global corporation. Having competent and educated people to work is an asset for any corporate.

Due to Asia being a major source of cheap labor, most multinational conglomerates have set up offices here. This way, they benefit financially and by having more diverse personnel working for them. That is one of the main reasons scholars and governments worldwide have a keen eye on education in Asia.

Climate Change

Second, with the current pandemic and its effects on the future of mankind, a collaborative effort between Asia and the rest of the world is the call of the day. Apart from the obvious economic ramifications, we must not forget the devastating effects of climate change that the most vulnerable are dealing with. And those people belong to the lowest strata of Asian society. Education is the key in managing such biological and natural disasters, and Asia with its high population is at the forefront.

Hardworking Values

The third, and most important reason, why education in Asia matters to the world as a whole is due to its huge myriad of education systems. Despite the colossal difficulties faced by the majority of the population in Asia, children of Asian parents tend to do well at school. The poorest of the poor, strive to provide their kids with basic education to build a better future for them. The west with its affluence is certainly looking to embrace the qualities of hard work and persistence, which are primary values for educational success in Asia.

The world around us is constantly changing, and almost everything around us has to adapt to it. Education, once considered a luxury, is now a basic right for every human being. The sheer difficulty with which a major population of Asians gains access to education is a spectacle in itself. With a majority of the human population belonging to Asia, it will certainly have a major say in world affairs in time to come. Education is what determines the future of a people, and perhaps that explains the close watch on education in Asia.
